The adapter can also install a standard 2.5" SATA III Drive (HDD/SSD). The 2.5" SATA Drive is directly powered by the PCIe slot, but the data is not pass-through the PCIe slot. A SATA cable is required to connect the SATA port of the adapter and a free SATA port on the motherboard.
